Orchidea 2026

'Orchidea', carved from a single block of Carrara marble, was shown this weekend as part of C/Art, the festival of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network, now in its third edition in Carrara.

The piece was placed in Palazzo Monzoni. The historic building rarely opens to the public, and this year it hosted ten artists from five continents for the festival, myself included.

C/Art runs across Carrara's historic center every July, with over 150 artists from more than 30 UNESCO creative cities taking part. Carrara has been part of the network since 2017, recognized for craft and folk art. The festival is coordinated locally by Maura Crudeli, Focal Point for Carrara UNESCO Creative City.

My thanks to Maura Crudeli and the Carrara UNESCO team for selecting Orchidea for this space, and to Palazzo Monzoni for hosting us. I'm honoured to have been part of it.
